Copyrights are here! We have introduced the ability for an Institution-wide copyright policy to be created, as well as the ability for a copyright to be applied to individual pieces of media.

Institutions are no longer limited to one caption configuration! Unlimited configurations are now possible across one or more caption providers. These new caption configurations can also be set up for Organizations, Departments, and Sections so that published content is automatically sent out for captioning.

Hotspot questions require a learner to respond to a question by selecting a point on an image. The question is scored based on whether the learner selected a point that was within an area set up by the instructor.

Matching questions require learners to relate one or more items with an option from a list. Instructors can configure any number of items that relate to a common list of options.

Narratives allow instructors to associate one or more questions with a common block of information. Narratives can include a passage of text, one or more images, tables, or multiple tabs separating different information. Narratives will be presented to the learner along with the related question(s) when taking an exam.

Instructors can configure additional information that can be made available to learners during or after an exam. Feedback provides additional information based on the learners selected answer to a question. Rationale provides an explanation to the learner about the correct answer.

Build, edit, share, and post media playlists with your EchoVideo content. You will be able to curate them in EchoVideo first or make them on the fly from within your LMS. Set auto-play next and gating options that will prevent users from viewing the next video before they finish the previous one(s).

Highlight questions require a learner to highlight one or more selections from a passage of text in order to answer a question. Instructors can configure up to 10 highlighted sections, including distractors.

Any learner accessing their EchoPoll account will be greeted by My Dashboard – a centralized hub for all their important items. From here, they can quickly join an ongoing session using the provided join code, check out upcoming Live Sessions scheduled by their instructor, and view all the Assignments with fast-approaching due dates. Learners can keep an eye on any enrolled courses, with the ones having upcoming sessions or assignments automatically being displayed at the top of the list.

Part of the NCLEX Next Gen, dropdown table questions require a learner to fill in a table by selecting an option from a dropdown for each field. Learners are scored based on each field they answered correctly.

Bowtie questions require a learner to drag-and-drop a correct response into a bowtie chart. Part of the NCLEX Next Gen, bowtie questions include a central chart option for the patient's condition, along with two options for actions to take and for parameters to monitor.

Learners must respond to a question by selecting one option for each row in a table, based on 2 or more columns with options. Part of the NCLEX Next Gen, learners will receive points for each row, based on whether they select the correct option.

Multiple Choice Matrix Questions

Learners must respond to a question by selecting one or more items from multiple categories. Part of the NCLEX Next Gen, learners are presented with up to 5 categories, each containing a set of items to choose from. Learners are scored based on the correct and incorrect selected items in each category.

Grouped Multiple Response Questions

Any instructor accessing EchoPoll will see My Dashboard. Instructors can quickly create a new Poll Deck, or use a recent Poll Deck to deliver a session or assignment on-the-fly. Instructors can also see a summary of their Sessions and Assignments that are ready to be scheduled, will be available for learners soon, or are already in progress for them. If the instructor is using courses to deliver content, they will see a quick view of the courses they are an instructor on, with any that have upcoming sessions or assignments showing at the top of the list.

In addition to report summaries, instructors will be able to download detailed reports for in progress and completed Assignments, and for completed Sessions. The .csv report will be able to be downloaded from the Reports table or while viewing the details, and will include the score for each participant, whether they responded to unscored questions, and whether they answered correctly or incorrectly for scored questions.

Participant detailed reports of scores and courses will also be able to be downloaded directly from the Reports table, without needing to view the individual participant summaries.

Download, extract, and install the EchoVideo Tiny MCE plugins for your Moodle 4.1 or higher instance. These plugins allow instructors or administrators to easily embed EchoVideo media directly into content windows in Moodle.

When creating a Word Cloud or Short Answer questions, instructors can choose whether answers submitted by learners are checked for capitalization.

Case-Sensitive Setting for Open Response Questions

Instructors creating Multiple Choice, Multiple Select, or True / False questions in EchoPoll web or EchoPoll+ will be given an additional choice of “0, 1, 2” for their answer option labels. If they select this option, the first answer option will automatically be labeled as "0."

Now that we have a base feature for whether or not content has a copyright, we will be adding the ability for Institutions to configure specific licenses available for use. Media owners and admins will then be able to set which licenses apply to individual media.

Instructors will have additional options when creating a Hotspot Question. Choose the learner input icon, set different shapes for hotspot areas, and set alternate text to improve accessibility for learners.

Learners must respond to a question by taking a distinct set of pre-defined item and rearranging them into the correct order. Learners are scored based on each response that is in the correct position.

Lock one or more answer options so they are always in the same position, even if answer options are scrambled. Instructors can create questions using options like, "all of the above," while still enabling scrambled options to prevent cheating.

When creating a new test, instructors can choose to make the test bubble sheet compatible. Instructors can choose from 12 bubble sheet forms based on their needs. Bubble sheets will print along with the printed test in A4 or US letter, and only require an inkjet printer. Once an instructor has administered a printed bubble sheet or Scantron test, they will have the option of manually adding the learner scores to the gradebook.

When creating a Poll Deck, instructors will have the option to use Echo.ai Assist to add interactive slides. Echo.ai Assist allows instructors to automatically generate multiple choice, multiple select, short answer, and true / false questions from their PowerPoint presentation. Echo.ai Assist uses instructor's content only - never additional online content - and never exposes instructor's content to others.

Exam Summary Report

Instructors will see slide types broken into distinct categories, allowing them to quickly find exactly what they need for each presentation.

Instructors can set any poll question to accept the first response only, preventing participants from changing their answer based on responses from their peers.

For multiple choice and multiple select polls, instructors can add different points for each response option, allowing flexibility for participation and partial credit on these polls.

A new poll deck editor will be available for instructors in EchoPoll web, including improved accessibility, and intuitive functionality for instructors accustomed to standard presentation applications.

When instructors are working in the Test Editor, Question Editor, or Narrative Editor, they will be alerted when an item is not fully supported in all modes. Narratives include an alert that they may be limited on mobile, due to the smaller screen size, and an appropriate screen size is suggested. Questions and narratives that include an external hyperlink will display an alert that they are not compatible with browser lock secure exams, since learners will not be able to access additional browser tabs.

Instructors have the option of setting an equation as the correct answer for a short answer, essay, or numeric question. When an equation is set, learners will see the option to use the equation editor to add their answer. The equation editor is fully accessible and supports both mathematical and chemical equations.

Instructors have the ability to mark specific questions in an exam as allowing a calculator. When the calculator is allowed, learners will see an icon on the exam to open the calculator tool. The calculator tool is built into the exam and fully supported with the browser lock option for exams. Learners can toggle between a basic calculator and scientific calculator functions, and keyboard shortcuts are available to interact with all calculator keys.

When printing tests, instructors will see an updated layout to maximize the number of pages on the printed test and improve the readability for learners. Instructors can configure versions, space for learners to write their answers, test and question instructions, and more. Instructors can also choose between a standard and compact layout, on either US letter or A4 paper to minimize total page count when printing.

Updates are coming to Consolidated Analytics in EchoVideo, including updates to the Analytics page (pagination, updated cards, etc.) as well as the addition of a % viewed metric and the ability to download individual media data.

For any exam report, instructors will have the option to download a .pdf or .csv file with the exam details. The .csv export includes all exam statistics, question metrics, and learner responses. The .pdf export includes all report visuals, including all charts, statistics, and expanded question details. Learners will have access to download a .pdf only of the exam report. Learner downloads will include only the report sections that the instructor has made available to the learner for the exam.
